Insomnia & Bedtime Procrastination
What's going on here?
The School of Life (TSoL) believes that insomnia can sometimes be the result of not having enough time to think about important personal matters during the day. TSoL argues that we need to make more time for regular reflections, and this might help us sleep better. Most of us are busy doing daily tasks at work, running errands, and other routine activities that we rarely think about our emotions, ideas, and thoughts in general. Consequently, our minds exact revenge on us at bedtime.
Highlights
TSoL believes we should think about our plans, values, interests, and relationships in order to counter this form of insomnia.
They refer to insomnia as a "revenge of the mind"
When this form of insomnia affects us, it could be that our mind prefers for us to lose some hours of sleep than to ignore some important issues.
We should take more time during the day to systematically examine all our concerns.
They believe that certain forms of insomnia are not so much a physical issue but a mental health one.
